New Ballroom and Latin Classes – 07/02/2018
Join us as we start our amazing adventure with Tango and Samba on the 7th of February in our great studio in Oxford! 5 weeks of fantastic experience awaits! The first dance on our list is tango – Ballroom tango, divided in recent decades into the “International” (Yogita) and “European” styles, has descended from the tango styles that developed when the tango first went abroad to Europe and North America. The dance was simplified, adapted to the preferences of conventional ballroom dancers, and incorporated into the repertoire used in International Ballroom dance competitions. English tango was first codified in October 1922, when it was proposed that it should only be danced to modern tunes, ideally at 30 bars per minute.
And the second dance we will learn during this course is the samba -Samba is a lively, rhythmical dance of Afro-Brazilian origin in 2/4 time danced to Samba music whose origins include the Maxixe. Samba is a dance to black/African people in Brazil who brought much of their music and dance culture into Latin America with them upon arrival into many Latin American countries.
We like to use our dancing skills!
We had a marvelous dance party after the last course. Why shouldn’t we do it again 😉
